 Hi there, Welcome to the another part of PROGRAMMING IN COMPUTERS (BASICS) PART - 4. In the previous article we have seen about Header and Body Section in HTML, Basic HTML Program, Saving HTML Program and Extensions. In this article we will see more about HTML Tags.


Tags :  Full HTML programs starts with Tags and ends with Tags. Tags are the basic tool which is used to give any command to HTML Programs, even HTML Programs also start with tag i.e. <html> </html>. There are 2 types of  HTML Tags :

1. CONTAINER TAG

2. EMPTY TAG   

Container Tag : Container tags are tags which hold a data or content inside it. They are opening and closing tags, they are opened with angular brackets and closed with Slash ( / ). Eg. <html>    </html> 

Some more Examples of Container Tags :  

<html>  </html>    (Html Tag)

<head>  </head>   (Head Tag)

<title>   </title>     (Title Tag)

<body>  </body>   (Body Tag) Etc. 

Empty Tag : Empty tags are the tags which not hold a data or a content inside it. These types of tags don't close, therefore these tags are always opened. Eg. <Br>  ;  <Hr> etc. 

Title Tag: It displays the name of the title on the webpage. 

Body Tag : It is the tag where we write our content or data. 


Now we are going see about more tags, but these Tags will be used in Body Section of HTML that is inside Body Tag . 

  • BG COLOR : This tag is used to change Background Colour of Webpage. It is used inside BODY TAG , if you will use this tag outside of body tag it will not work.                                  Firstly you have to write bgcolor, and the colour spelling should be this 👉 (COLOR) instead of this :- (COLOUR) and the word bg and color should be joined, if it will not be joined then the tag will not work.                                                                                                                        Now, bgcolor = "black". You will write bgcolor and then Equals To (=) sign and then under double inverted comma ("") you will write you custom colour. Eg.

BACKGROUND COLOUR HAS BEEN CHANGED

  • Text Colour : This tag is used to change Text Colour in Webpage. This tag is also used to inside BODY TAG. For using this tag you have just write  Text = "Black". Then the text colour will be changed in the Webpage. Eg.

NOTE: All the container tags should be closed </> after completion of content inside it.
